Veneers

[00:00:02.560] A veneer is anything that's a thin layer [00:00:07.800] that goes over the surface of another piece of material. [00:00:13.080] In our case, [00:00:13.960] a veneer is a little pretty piece of porcelain [00:00:17.400] that disguises the underlying tooth structure. [00:00:20.680] There's two main different types of veneers; [00:00:23.400] one is made out of porcelain glass, [00:00:26.280] and the other is made out of tooth-colored composite. [00:00:30.440] Patients of all ages and varieties are candidates for veneers. [00:00:36.560] Anybody who has teeth that got broken through an accident, [00:00:43.240] teeth that are discolored from age or from some sort of staining. [00:00:47.840] Veneers are something that I find everywhere, [00:00:53.280] from a teenager up through an ocogenarian would love. [00:00:59.080] Another beautiful thing about veneers is, it's simply a two-appointment procedure. [00:01:05.000] Veneers are, in essence, a permanent solution. [00:01:08.720] People will sometimes have veneers refurbished [00:01:14.360] maybe 10-20 years after placement, [00:01:18.720] but it's usually because gums have receded or something of that sort, [00:01:25.280] or once in a while, a veneer would chip, [00:01:28.600] just like a natural tooth would chip [00:01:30.560] if you bit on a fork or got into an accident, [00:01:35.680] you could break something. [00:01:37.600] But they're very strong, very long-lasting, [00:01:41.560] and usually I would say, [00:01:45.520] something that easily lasts 10-20 years and oftentimes more.
