Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is needed when a patient's tooth is infected. This infection often spills out into the bone, becoming a condition referred to as a tooth abscess.

An experienced dentist like Dr. Sharp or Dr. Mitchell can make the root canal process easy and relatively pain-free.
With the technology available today, root canal treatments are not lengthy or complicated. Often, the tissue inside the tooth is completely dead, so the patient doesn't even need novocain during the process. |

When someone has an infection in their tooth, there is no room in the canal space for white blood cells or extra antibodies. When the tissue attempts to swell, it chokes itself off and eventually dies. It's at this point that it turns into an abcess.
In endodontic treatment, Dr. Sharp or Dr. Mitchell can remove this dead or diseased tissue, clean the inside of the tooth thoroughly, and then place a sealer material inside the tooth. It's extremely important that the tooth be filled to the very end of the apex of the tooth.
Sharp Smile Center can make sure that this procedure is as comfortable, as well as thorough, for you. While the procedure is ordinarily not difficult at all for the patient, some are still quite anxious about it. If you would like, we can provide sedation dentistry for you, so that you may not even remember the appointment.
