Kalamazoo Dental Implants

Michael P. Sharp is a cosmetic dentist practicing in the Kalamazoo area. He is experienced in placing dental implants.

Dental implants are often the best option if you are missing one, several or all of your teeth. When you have a dental implant, it is the closest thing to having your own natural tooth.

When you make the decision to have a dental implant the choice of dentist is crucial in determining the quality of the finished tooth. Not all dentists are cosmetic dentists and not everyone who calls himself a cosmetic dentist has the artistic eye to create a natural looking tooth. Dr. Sharp is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and has had extra training in placing dental implants. He even does the actual surgery.

What are dental implants?

They consist of two parts. The first is a root form which is like the root of your teeth. This is surgically placed in the bone.

After being placed, it needs some time to heal and integrate with the bone. After this healing, the second part can be placed—the crown. Dental implant crowns are generally made out of porcelain. As a cosmetic dentist with an artistic eye, Dr. Sharp will make this tooth look just like the surrounding natural teeth.

Dr. Sharp explains the benefits and drawbacks of Mini-Dental Implants.
